The Fort Mill Rescue Squad announced that 39 of its volunteers have been awarded the President’s Volunteer Service Award. The Award is a national honor bestowed on volunteers throughout the country.

The President’s Volunteer Service Award was established in 2003 by former President George W Bush. The Fort Mill Rescue Squad is a participating Certifying Organization for the President’s Volunteer Service Award.

The Fort Mill Rescue Squad was established in 2003 as a non-profit organization although its history goes back over fifty years to its founding in 1955. The Squad serves the residents of Fort Mill, Tega Cay and northeastern York County in South Carolina. The Squad also provides standby medical coverage to organizations including the Fort Mill School District, York County Special Olympics, and many other organizations when requested.
